Payments & Deposits

A deposit is required at the time of placing your order to secure your date. If an invoice is sent, the deposit or full payment must be made to confirm your order. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before your scheduled pickup.

Cancellation

All deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your order, notice must be given at least one week prior to your event date. Cancellations made within one week of the event will not be honored, and all payments made will be forfeited.

Pickup & Delivery

All cakes are pickup only and must be collected at the scheduled time provided on the initial order form, unless other arrangements are made in advance.

For wedding cakes, delivery and setup are required. Delivery within a 10-mile radius of zip code 20721 is a flat rate of $25. For locations outside of that radius, delivery is charged at the $25 flat rate plus an additional $1.00 per mile.

Once an order is picked up, responsibility for the cake transfers to the client or the designated pickup person. The Icings on Top is not liable for any damage that occurs after the cake has left our premises or once it has been set up at the delivery location.

Pricing

Cakes are priced based on the number of guests you will be serving and your choice of a buttercream or fondant finish. The minimum serving size for all custom cakes is 10 guests. For pricing inquiries, please fill out our form on our Contact page.

Cupcakes are available in orders of half dozen (6) or full dozen (12). Fondant options are also available for cupcakes.

Fondant vs. Buttercream

Fondant:
Fondant is a sugar dough that’s rolled thin and molded over a buttercream-coated cake. It has a sweet taste with a slightly chewy texture and a matte finish (as long as the weather is dry). The edges are rounded, giving the cake a more polished and sophisticated look.

Buttercream:
Our homemade buttercream is rich yet not overly sweet. Its smooth texture and balanced flavor complement all types of cakes and fillings, making it a delicious and versatile choice.
